Overview of Job :

The Finance Department is presently seeking an Accounting Team Lead . This role includes, but is not limited to, financial statement preparation, report presentation, general ledger reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and end-to-end month-end close. A background in end-to-end month-end close procedures, financial report preparation, balance sheet reconciliations, and journal entry processing is required of the selected candidate. The chosen applicant should possess prior expertise utilizing programs such as NetSuite, ADP, and QuickBooks. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, ambitious, self-directed, and able to operate both independently and in a team.

Responsibilities :

• Responsible for the day-to-day Accounting Activities

• Assisting the Controller with all accounting procedures and systems used in the organization

• Leading a team of 4-5 employees

• First point of contact for team members

• Managing accounts receivable and accounts payable ledgers

• To process payroll as necessary in the absence of the Controller

• Contribute to training and development of the team

• Comply with all the Finance and Legal requirements, responsibilities, and obligations

• Assist with preparing and filling returns, including HST, Payroll Liabilities, Group Insurance, RRSPs

• Bank / Credit Card Reconciliations

• Preparing finance reporting and analysis

• Assisting Controller with end-to-end full month close cycle

• Ad Hoc tasks as required

Qualifications/Skills :

• College Diploma in Accounting, Finance or Administrative Studies (with a major in Finance or Accounting)

• Previous Experience in Payroll

• Experience with Quickbooks, NetSuite and ADP are an asset

• Experience as a Finance/Accounting Team Lead is an asset

• Experience with MS Suite with proficiency in MS Excel

• Excellent command of the English language both written and spoken

• Strong communication skills (Verbal and Written)

• Self motivated and detail oriented

• Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills

• A Team player who is able to work independently and in a team

• Ability to maintain a clear criminal record for the duration of employment

• Able to commute to North York Office and work from home
