Position Summary:

As Riverside Natural Foods continues its business transformation journey, we are investing in leading-edge data and analytics capabilities to support long-term, values-based growth. A key pillar of this transformation is the migration to SAP-centric analytics tools, including SAP Datasphere and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).

The SAP Data Engineering Lead will play a critical role in enabling this transition. This hands-on, proactive, and collaborative team member will support the design, development, and implementation of SAP-integrated BI and ETL solutions. They will be instrumental in shifting Riverside's data infrastructure away from legacy tools towards scalable, enterprise-grade platforms built on SAP.

This individual must be a self-starter with strong communication skills, a positive outlook, and a deep understanding of SAP systems, including S4 tables, data modeling, ETL workflows, and analytics/reporting tools.

Primary Responsibilities:

Strategic

• Support the execution of Riverside's BI and Data Strategy in alignment with SAP roadmap and enterprise priorities.
• Collaborate with the Enterprise Data Architect and BT&T leadership to define technical standards, playbooks, and reusable data models.
• Advocate for data integrity, transparency, and consistency across the SAP analytics ecosystem.
• Act as a bridge between business users and technical teams to enable trusted and actionable insights.

Operational

• Develop and maintain data pipelines using SAP Datasphere and/ or other ETL tools to support analytics and reporting requirements.
• Build intuitive dashboards and reports in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) to meet business KPIs and operational needs.
• Translate business requirements into effective BI solutions by leveraging SAP-standard data sources and tables.
• Collaborate with business users to understand their workflows and deliver analytics products that improve decision-making.
• Support the retirement of legacy BI systems and the migration of dashboards and processes into SAP tools.
• Ensure compliance with data governance policies, including metadata documentation, data lineage, and transformation logic.
• Troubleshoot technical issues, provide production support, and document solutions and processes.
• Train and support end-users in adopting SAP analytics tools.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of CPG experience in Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, or Analytics roles.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with SAP systems, including S/4HANA
• Proven experience with SAP Datasphere (formerly Data Warehouse Cloud) and SAP Analytics Cloud.
• Strong background in SAP table structures, joins, and data modeling techniques.
• Experience with Tableau and Alteryx, especially in migration or conversion contexts, is an asset.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in designing ETL workflows within SAP and equivalent tools.
• Expertise in BI report/dashboard development (SAC, Tableau).
• Strong SQL skills and familiarity with SAP CDS Views.
• Understanding of data warehousing principles and data governance best practices.
• Experience with integration to non-SAP data sources is a plus.
