Junior Accountant (Accounting Specialist)

Job Duties

• Assess budgets, control expenses, and communicate with departmental leaders to stay abreast of spending, budgeting, reports, and evaluation.
• Maintain an accurate and complete trail of supporting documentation for all activities.
• Understand on the content and accuracy of financial reporting.
• Ensure that all month-end financial duties and resulting financial reporting is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
• Record all business transactions, process accruals and adjustments, reconcile accounts, and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting and financial statements.
• Maintain year-end working papers and spreadsheets, and assist with preparation for any internal or external audits or independent reviews being conducted.
• Collect, interpret, and report on financial data.
• Prepare financial statements and bank reconciliations.
• Process and enter invoices for payment, match invoices with purchase orders, and check for accuracy.
• Prepare monthly submissions for accounting and monthly remittances.
• Tax Filing to make sure compliance with applicable tax legislation.
• This role is a fixed-term position for a duration of 1 year

Job Requirements

• Degree or diploma in business, finance, or accounting field.
• 2-3 years of experience in the accounting and financial industry.
• Ability to analyze numerical data in tables, spreadsheets, and other tools (Excel spreadsheet skills are highly recommended).
• Basic knowledge and experience of accounting systems and ERP systems.
• Basic or intermediate knowledge in generally accepted accounting rules, ASPE/IFRS, Income tax acts (T1 & T2), and related reporting requirements.
• Ability to understand and calculate financial terms such as discounts, interest rates, proportions, percentages, taxes, budgets, internal controls, etc.
• Superb time management skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands.
• High level of job-related integrity and excellent work ethic.
• Bilingual in English and Korean is a strong asset.
