Private Chef

Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced Private Chef to work part-time for a family at their residence. You must be able to take direction well, have excellent time management and be quick on your feet. The ideal candidate knows how to cater menu items to meet the dietary preferences and constraints of the family.

Position Responsibilities

• Preparing meals and baked goods for the week, ensuring ready-to-serve options are available throughout the week
• Providing occasional assistance with preparing and serving fresh, seasonal, health-conscious meals (lunch, snacks, and dinner) for the family and their guests
• Providing occasional assistance with breakfast and brunch service as required
• Managing all aspects of the kitchen, including grocery shopping, inventory control, storage management, and pantry stock
• Using a house vehicle, when available, to complete work-related errands
• Organizing the kitchen and overseeing all food-related activities, including the presentation and serving of food
• Maintaining the overall cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area at all times
• Ensuring the general maintenance of kitchen equipment and arranging service as required
• Sourcing and ordering kitchen supplies and equipment as needed
• Planning and preparing food for parties, holiday meals, luncheons, special functions, and other social events
• Travelling to vacation homes, as required, to provide meal preparation services at those locations. 

Skills & Qualifications

• Strong cooking background
• Must have formal training in cuisine
• Must have a passion for cooking
• Good planning and organizational skills
• Have the ability to adapting to the family's tastes, preferences and dietary
• Energetic with a strong work ethic
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure
• Ability to work independently
• Adaptable and able to respond to the needs of the principal residents, including having flexible hours and scheduling with the ability to work evenings, mornings and weekends according to the household needs
• Be professional and punctual
• Service oriented, have great presentation and pleasant with great communication skills
• Understands that the outmost in discretion and confidentially is required at all times
• Must be eligible to work in Canada and travel abroad without restriction (including having a valid passport)

Work Schedule

This is a part-time position requiring approximately 24 hours per week, with a regular schedule of three days per week.
