The Opportunity

Manager, Category Finance role responsible for supporting the retail marketing team with ad hoc requests and analysis that provide key insights to support fact‑based decision making. This position also plays a key role in the budget process and is involved in various aspects throughout the entire cycle.

Compensation: $96,000 – $141,000 CAD base pay annually plus annual short‑term incentive.

The above compensation reflects the target compensation for the position at the time of posting. The base salary offered may vary based on a variety of factors including skills, experience, education, training, job‑related knowledge, and other organizational requirements. For part‑time roles, salaries are adjusted according to scheduled hours. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible to participate in Maple Leaf’s annual short‑term incentive plan.

Snapshot of a Day‑in‑the‑Life

• Proactively support commercial teams in projects (new product launches) as the main finance lead, ensuring analyses are ‘value‑added’ and align with Business Unit priorities.
• Coordinate forecasts and budget reviews for volume and margins with the marketing team, ensuring adjustments flow accurately to reflect objectives and targets for the category.
• Coordinate, prepare and distribute weekly reporting; lead weekly meetings for commercial teams as the finance representative; identify areas of opportunity or risk, provide recommendations, and execute against them.
• Provide commercial reporting to senior management as requested.

What You’ll Bring

• Post‑secondary degree in Accounting or Business (required)
• Accounting designation or working toward one
• 3 to 5 years of value‑add analytical experience

• Superior Microsoft Excel skills
• SAP experience (asset)
