The Opportunity

Acumen Agency is seeking a Marketing Sales & Business Development Director to lead the acquisition of clients for our marketing services.

This is a commercially focused leadership position for an experienced marketing professional who understands not only how to market a business, but how to acquire paying clients for marketing services .

The ideal candidate has a proven track record of generating marketing clients, understands multiple client acquisition channels, has an established professional network, and can teach and lead other business development professionals.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategies for acquiring marketing clients.
• Generate new business through networking, referrals, outbound prospecting, partnerships, events, and other channels.
• Identify and target companies, organizations, government entities, nonprofits, and entrepreneurs requiring marketing services.
• Build relationships with owners, executives, marketing directors, communications leaders, and other decision-makers.
• Leverage an existing professional network to generate opportunities.
• Qualify prospects and identify their marketing needs.
• Develop compelling service packages, proposals, and commercial offers.
• Lead sales conversations, presentations, negotiations, and closing activities.
• Develop recurring marketing engagements and long-term client relationships.
• Identify opportunities to cross-sell and expand existing accounts.
• Develop repeatable client acquisition systems and sales processes.
• Train, coach, and mentor other business development representatives on marketing-service sales.
• Establish prospecting standards, outreach strategies, sales scripts, and best practices.
• Monitor pipeline activity, conversion rates, client acquisition costs, contract values, recurring revenue, and profitability.
• Recruit and help develop additional marketing business development professionals as the division grows.
• Help build Acumen Agency into a significant global provider of marketing services.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in marketing, marketing agency business development, client acquisition, or marketing services sales .
• Demonstrated ability to personally acquire and retain marketing clients.
• Strong understanding of modern marketing and client acquisition strategies.
• Excellent sales, networking, prospecting, presentation, negotiation, and closing skills.
• Existing relationships with business owners, executives, marketing professionals, or organizational decision-makers are strongly preferred.
• Ability to teach and develop other sales and business development professionals.
• Strong understanding of how marketing services are packaged, priced, sold, and delivered.
• Proven revenue-generation history is highly desirable.
• Entrepreneurial, commercially minded, and results-oriented.
• Leadership experience is an advantage.

Compensation & Career Opportunity

This position begins on a performance-based compensation model , tied to successful client acquisition and measurable revenue generated.

As the candidate demonstrates consistent results and the marketing practice expands, there is an opportunity to transition into a full-time salaried leadership position overseeing marketing business development.

High-performing candidates may ultimately build and lead a national or global marketing sales organization.

This position can be performed remotely while developing marketing business across international markets.
