Job Summary:

Our private career college is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager with payroll responsibilities to oversee all aspects of our human resources department, including payroll processing, employee benefits administration, recruitment and hiring, employee relations, and compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a private career college environment and will be able to ensure that our HR policies and procedures align with our mission and values.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the full payroll cycle, including processing payrolls, maintaining payroll records, and ensuring compliance with all payroll-related regulations.
• Oversee employee benefits administration, including managing employee benefit plans, maintaining records, and resolving any issues that may arise.
• Manage recruitment and hiring processes, including creating s, posting job openings, screening resumes, and conducting interviews.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Employment Standards Act, the Human Rights Act, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on HR-related matters, including performance management, employee relations, and conflict resolution.
• Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that align with the college's mission and values.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files and attendance records.
• Manage the HR budget, including forecasting and reporting on HR-related expenses.
• Participate in college-wide initiatives and projects as required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in human resources management, business administration or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a human resources management role, including experience managing payroll.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations in Alberta.
• Working experience with Ceridian Dayforce HRIS system is an asset.
• Experience working in a private career college environment is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel and Word.
