Lead the care team at Extendicare and ensure quality service and resident safety. This full-time Director of Care role emphasizes leadership, mentoring, and operational management. Extendicare is seeking a passionate Director of Care to oversee daily operations and advocate for residents' needs. With a focus on mentorship and staff development, this position ensures that regulatory compliance and quality standards are maintained. You will also manage nursing budgets while promoting a positive care culture throughout your team. Key Responsibilities:
- Direct daily operations of the care team
- Mentor staff and foster professional development
- Manage nursing budgets and financials for the department
- Monitor compliance with regulatory and quality standards
- Address resident concerns and develop personalized care plans
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing; Master’s preferred
- Registered Nurse with provincial licensing
- Minimum 5 years nursing experience; 2 years in a leadership role
- Knowledge of long-term care standards
- Strong leadership and communication skills
