We are seeking a skilled Business Development (BD) Associate to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial for driving business growth initiatives. You will work closely with the Koonkie team, as well as current and future clients, to develop and implement strategies for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to drive company growth.
Responsibilities
- Market Research: Analyze industry trends, competitor activities, and potential clients to identify opportunities.
- Lead Generation: Develop and maintain a pipeline of potential clients through networking, cold calling, and outreach.
- Relationship Management: Build and nurture relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders. Foster relationships with industry leaders and potential clients to drive business growth and partnership opportunities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product, and scientific teams to align strategies and objectives.
- Reporting: Track and report on sales metrics and performance to inform decision-making.
Skills and qualifications
- Proven expertise in business development, ideally in the biological sciences (minimum 3 years experience).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective prioritization and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and product development.
- Competence in negotiating terms and closing deals while maintaining positive relationships.
- Ability to analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to inform strategies.
- Understanding sales processes and techniques to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
- Proficiency in networking and relationship-building to establish connections with potential clients and industry professionals.
- Proficiency with tools for tracking leads and managing customer relationships, such as CRM softwares, project management softwares, and other relevant software.
- A minimum of a post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Biological Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Experience working with biological or genomic data is an asset.
