Job Summary

Reporting to the Vice President, Control, the Manager, Financial Reporting & Controls will supervise a team and oversee the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of the Corporation’s financial reporting and control environment. This role leads the preparation of consolidated financial statements, Management Discussion & Analysis, and regulatory filings, while ensuring compliance with international financial reporting standards and applicable securities regulations. The position also owns the internal control framework, supports enterprise risk management, and serves as the primary liaison with external and internal auditors. The role provides technical accounting expertise on complex and non‑routine transactions and contributes to strategic and operational finance initiatives across the organization.

Working Conditions

The position is based at the GMIN Corporate office in Brossard, Quebec with flexible working hours depending on the candidate’s home location. Travel may be required to the GMIN’s subsidiaries located in South America.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting & Consolidation: Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and working papers prepared by the finance team; manage the consolidation process of subsidiaries and sub‑consolidations; review and approve all manual journal entries at the consolidation level; ensure integrity of consolidation adjustments and intercompany eliminations; oversee complex consolidation areas including cash flow statements and foreign currency translation; prepare, draft, and review quarterly and annual financial statements and MD&A; support the end‑to‑end statement disclosure process; review significant transactions; prepare complex technical accounting memos; maintain updated working papers.
• Regulatory Compliance & Reporting: Lead the Extractive Sector Transparency Measures Act reporting process across Brazil, Guyana, and Canada; oversee due diligence reporting obligations to Natural Resources Canada; coordinate with external tax advisors to review tax provisions.
• Audit & Internal Controls: Act as the primary contact for external auditors; coordinate internal audit activities, review audits and reports, and remediate control deficiencies; develop and maintain internal control frameworks.
• Enterprise Risk Management (ERM): Serve as the ERM point of contact, maintain the corporate risk register, facilitate risk workshops, and prepare risk management presentations for executive leadership and the Audit Committee.
• Other Responsibilities: Review and approve weekly corporate payments; manage ad‑hoc financial projects, process improvements, and special accounting initiatives; support continuous improvement of financial reporting systems and tools.

Requirements

Experience

• Manager level: 8+ years of progressive experience, including team leadership.
• Strong expertise in IFRS and financial reporting in a public company or multinational environment.
• Proven experience with consolidation, complex accounting, and regulatory reporting.
• Experience in the mining, natural resources, or extractive industry is a strong asset.
• Experience working with external auditors and internal control frameworks.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP S/4HANA or OneStream.
• Bilingual (English/French); Portuguese is an asset.

Education/Certification/Designation

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, administration, finance, or related field.
• Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) of Canada designation required.
