Job Description
The Department of Oncology at McMaster University and Hamilton Health Sciences seeks an Academic Radiation Oncologist with specialized training and experience in GU brachytherapy. The successful candidate will be part of a team to develop and open a Prostate Brachytherapy program in an existing fully functional brachytherapy suite. This appointment is within the Division of Radiation Oncology, Faculty of Health Sciences, McMaster University.

The Juravinski Cancer Centre (JCC) hosts a comprehensive radiation oncology programme, with 26 full‑time physicians and state‑of‑the‑art technology, including HDR brachytherapy and MRI‑guided simulation.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical service in the primary area of focus (GU brachytherapy) and a secondary disease site.
- Participate in the on‑call roster, ward consultation service and the hospitalist program for daily patient management.
- Engage in research, education, and clinical trial participation, contributing to undergraduate, postgraduate, and residency training.
- Contribute to the design and launch of the new GU brachytherapy program and related research projects.
Qualifications
- Valid license to practice in Ontario issued by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
- Fellowship in Radiation Oncology (FRCP in Radiation Oncology or equivalent).
- Membership in the Canadian Medical Protective Association or equivalent.
- Fellowship training in brachytherapy or extensive independent experience in the field.
