We are seeking a dedicated Recreational Programmer for St. Peter's Residence in Hamilton, focusing on therapeutic recreation for long-term care residents. This role requires a college diploma in Recreation or Gerontology and a strong background in care for residents with Alzheimer’s and other chronic conditions. Engaging with residents every weekend, you'll help cultivate a supportive environment. Key Responsibilities:

• Design and lead recreational programs tailored to resident needs
• Implement best practices in therapeutic recreation
• Engage with residents to promote social interaction
• Track participation and progress in recreational activities
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure quality care

Requirements:

• College diploma in Recreation or equivalent required
• In-depth knowledge of chronic health conditions and their impacts
• Strong empathetic and reflective listening skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Solid communication skills in English, both verbal and written
