We are hiring a Full-Time Permanent Pension Analyst position working out of Edmonton, AB .

As a Pension Analyst, you play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely administration of EPCOR's pension plans. You oversee pension transactions and processes, including enrolling new employees, maintaining member records, allocating contributions, and processing pension-related activities when employees leave the organization.
You also support year-end pension activities, reporting requirements, and audits, ensuring all work is completed in accordance with pension plan guidelines and established timelines.
Beyond day-to-day administration, you will provide analysis, information, and insights that support pension-related policies, planning, and strategic decision-making. Working closely with internal stakeholders, you will help ensure our pension programs are managed effectively and continue to meet the needs of employees and the organization.
What you’d be responsible for
- Overseeing the accurate and timely payment, reporting, and reconciliation of pension transactions across EPCOR's pension plans, ensuring all activities are completed in accordance with plan provisions, regulatory requirements, and established service standards. This includes:
- Enrolling new employees and setting up pension plan participation accurately and efficiently.
- Maintaining member records and data, ensuring information is complete, current, and accurately reflected in pension administration systems.
- Allocating and reconciling member and employer contributions, investigating and resolving discrepancies as required.
- Processing pension-related transactions associated with employee change events.
- Coordinating and supporting year-end pension processes and pension audits, including the preparation, validation, and reconciliation of pension data, reports, and supporting documentation. Ensuring all activities are completed in compliance with plan requirements, audit standards, and established timelines. Audits include, but are not limited to, LAPP, RCPP, OMERS, Internal Audit, CSOX, and the annual Financial Audit.
- Providing information, analysis, and subject matter support to inform pension-related policy, program, and strategic decision-making, including researching pension issues, preparing reports and recommendations, interpreting plan provisions, and responding to inquiries from internal stakeholders and external service providers.
What’s Required To Be Successful
- 4 + years of progressive pension administration experience working with a defined benefit pension plan
- 2 - year diploma or a degree in a related discipline (finance, accounting, business)
- Understanding and application of pension and payroll legislation
- Pension Plan Administration Certificate (PPAC) , Retirement Plan Associate (RPA) or Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designations would be considered an asset
- Experience working in a multiple site, multiple union environment is preferred
- Exposure to Oracle or other Web-based HR/Payroll Information System is preferred
- Exposure to Payroll is beneficial
- Strong computer skills , including a dvanced Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
- Ability to perform complex calculations with high degree of accuracy

Wage: Starting at $49.93 per hour . Final Wage and Step will be determined at the time of selection and based on a combination of factors as outlined in the Collective Agreement.
