Program Manager - Aircraft Appearance

Reporting to the Director, Catering Operations and Aircraft Appearance, the Program Manager, Aircraft Appearance is responsible for developing, leading, and optimizing the airline’s aircraft appearance program across the fleet. This role ensures all aircraft interiors and exteriors meet brand, regulatory, safety, and operational standards while delivering a consistent, high-quality guest experience. The position requires cross-functional coordination between Guest Experience, Maintenance & Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, and External Vendors

Direct Accountabilities

• Monitor cleaning delays and work with Regional Managers, Catering Operations and Regional Managers, Airports to ensure appropriate actions and CAPS are effected
• Project work relating to cleaning initiatives
• Continuous improvement in cleaning process to identify efficiency and cost savings opportunities
• Work closely with procurement for cleaning related contracts
• Develop and maintain a robust quality assurance programme
• Ensure penalties are applied for non-performance to Service Level Agreements
• Maintain the Aircraft Appearance section of the Cabin Provisioning Manual (CPM) and the Cleaning, Loading & Seat Dressing (CLD) document to provide clear policy and guidance
• Engage directly with the vendors and internal parties (e.g. Airports, Tech Ops) for procedural or performance related issues, with regularly scheduled performance review meetings
• Support new station startups and seasonal restarts as required
• Ensure appropriate training programs are in place to support the service partners, developing WestJet training as required (e.g. cleaning procedures, aircraft door opening)
• Ensure cleaning task cards are reviewed and agreed with stakeholders on a regular cadence
• Maintain the approved cleaning products portfolio, working with Tech Ops to evaluate and approve new product requests from vendors as required
• Monitor the scheduling of Detailed Cleans by Tech Ops to ensure that all aircraft are cycling through the program according to the agreed cadence
• Oversee IHRs relating to the Aircraft Appearance program, ensuring that appropriate action has been taken and any trending concerns are addressed

Key Deliverables Include

• Provide a robust cleaning program that ensures aircraft always present as clean to our guests and ensures a safe working environment for our employees
• Performance manage our service partners for compliance to cleaning specifications and within allotted time frames to support Safely Performing on Time (SPOT)

Experience And Qualifications

• 6+ years of airline operational experience with exposure to the aircraft grooming and cleaning activities
• Previous vendor management experience an asset
• Creation and maintenance of quality assurance and compliance programs
• Development and delivery of bespoke training programs (i.e. Train the Trainer)
• Strong analytical and project management skills
• Proficient in PC based applications including Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel
