Job Responsibility:
seeking a skilled AWS Glue Batch Administrator to join our team in a remote, offshore capacity. You will be responsible for supporting and maintaining ETL processes for our large-scale data warehouse, with a particular focus on AWS Glue data pipelines. Your proficiency in SQL, PySpark, Redshift, AWS Glue, and Unix scripting will be essential in monitoring and troubleshooting batch jobs, automating tasks, and ensuring the smooth flow of data. This role involves overnight work hours to align with our operational needs. Responsibilities:
- Monitoring and Support:
- Monitor AWS Glue data pipeline jobs for successful execution.
- Diagnose and resolve ETL and Glue job failures, data discrepancies, and performance issues.
- Provide weekend support for daily and month-end batch activities.
- Job Management:
- Configure and manage job schedules using AWS Glue triggers or orchestration tools like AWS Step Functions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement solutions for preventing recurring issues.
- Automation and Optimization:
- Automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Optimize job performance and resource utilization.
- Documentation and Communication:
- Maintain detailed documentation of ETL and Glue processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
- Communicate job status, issues, and resolutions to relevant teams.
- Participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in ETL Administration
- 2+ years of experience in AWS Glue data pipeline batch support
- Experience working with code repositories (Git, GitLab, GitHub)
- Proficiency in SQL, PySpark, Redshift, AWS Glue, and basic Unix scripting
- Working knowledge of database concepts and ETL principles
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Job Type: Fixed term contractContract length: 12 months
Pay: $60.00-$70.00 per hour
