Project Manager / Scrum Master (Toronto)

Position Summary

Our client, a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto, is looking for a Project Manager / Scrum Master to build and present for Senior Director and VP level presentations. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.

Location & Duration

Hybrid | Downtown, Toronto
Duration: 8 Months

Core Responsibilities

• Facilitate daily standups, bi‑weekly demos, retrospectives, planning, and other Agile ceremonies.
• Manage project scheduling, budgeting, and weekly reporting.
• Oversee overall project deliverables for medium to large data ingestion and consumption work streams, including integration of vendor products and in‑house applications.
• Lead initiatives supporting new technologies and channels, new product implementations, new client and advisor systems, regulatory change implementation, and business growth and efficiency.
• Develop and manage detailed schedules, identify early warning indicators, and provide direction for early resolution of risks and issues, including explicit escalation paths for program committees.
• Oversee financials and staffing levels to efficiently meet delivery requirements and track value for effective decision‑making.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners (e.g., vendors, IT teams, product groups).
• Build and present presentations for Senior Director and VP level audiences.
• Deliver initiatives using appropriate methods, including Agile and iterative Waterfall; manage day‑to‑day Scrum operations and related ceremonies.
• Satisfy multiple stakeholders in a complex and demanding business and technology environment and deliver business results on high‑profile, business‑critical assignments.

Must Have Skills

• 5+ years of Project Management experience spanning small projects and large programs ($20MM+) with high complexity and uncertainty.
• 3–5 years of managing large Data Ingestion / Consumption projects.
• Proven ability to manage high‑visibility programs/projects with third‑party vendors and significant technology components, along with a strong executive presence and advanced communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
• Advanced knowledge of change, issue, and risk management and working knowledge of SDLC and Agile delivery methodologies, including day‑to‑day ceremonies; experience fostering team improvements through standard Agile processes and ceremonies.
• Project/Program Management certifications (e.g., PMP and/or PgMP).
• Demonstrated proactive attitude, outstanding communication skills, attention to detail, and passion for innovation.

Nice‑to‑Have Skills

• Experience with Data, AI, Data Migration design, development, or Architecture.
• Previous experience working in Wealth Management.

Education

• Undergraduate degree (preferred), preferably in Business, Technology or Financial Services.

Compensation

The hourly compensation range for this role is $60/hr – $75/hr.
