The base salary will be $104,000 - $145,000 per annum. Starting salary will be aligned with the successful candidate’s experience, skills, and demonstrated qualifications.

About Us
The Mary J. Wright Child and Youth Development Clinic (MJW-CYDC) is a university-community clinic that provides high-quality and affordable psychological consultation, assessment, and treatment services to children and youth from three to 18 years of age. The MJW-CYDC is hosted by the Faculty of Education at Western University.

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of the Mary J. Wright Child & Youth Development Clinic (MJW-CYDC) in the Faculty of Education at Western, the Assistant Director, Clinical Psychologist will provide clinical services, leadership, and oversight for internal or external supervisees, and leadership support to the Director. The successful individual will be expected to carry a for-fee caseload. The role draws upon clinical research, extensive training, experience, and well-developed consultative networks to formulate, collaborate, implement and evaluate evidence-based individualized treatment plans for children and youth. The Assistant Director, Clinical Psychologist will also consult with internal and external stakeholders towards building broader community and personal capacity in responding to mental health needs.

Qualifications

Education:

• Ph.D. in School and Child Clinical Psychology
• Current membership in good standing as a Clinical Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario or eligible for registration in Ontario
• Authorized to practice with children, youth and families
• Current professional liability insurance
• School and Child Clinical Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario preferred

Experience:

• 5 years’ clinical experience supporting student learning and mental health both from an individual and systems perspective
• Experience with evidence-based assessment and treatment of emotional, cognitive, and behavioural issues, including performing psychometric assessments, interpreting results and preparing psychological evaluations in children and youth clients
• In-depth experience with psychological testing and report writing across diverse populations
• Experience in a leadership role within the school system working collaboratively with education professionals preferred
• Experience with supervising students, interns and other clinical trainees in a clinical setting preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• In-depth expertise with the provision and supervision of evidence-based, manualized treatments (e.g., cognitive behavioral therapy) for psychological disorders in children and youth clients
• Demonstrated familiarity of anti-racism and diversity issues, with a clear understanding of the importance of creating an inclusive environment
• Familiarity with relevant legislation, trends and best practices related to diversity, equity, human rights and anti-oppression theory in the provision of clinical services
• Proven expertise in triaging, psychological assessment and diagnostic skills, and in the treatment of individual problems, including concurrent disorders
• Capacity to provide supervision and training to internal or external supervisees during placements
• Ability to be self-directed and autonomous with advanced decision making, problem identification and problem-solving skills
• Strong organization and time management skills with an ability to adapt effectively and efficiently in a rapidly changing therapeutic environment
• Ability to work as part of the Applied Psychology ARC within the Faculty of Education and as a collaborative member of the Western campus community
• Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office and record keeping software
• Proven flexibility and ability to adapt to change with a demonstrated commitment to competence in interpersonal relationships, assessment and evaluation, intervention, consultation, and research
