Sales Manager

Summary

The individual is responsible for the day-to-day management of an assigned market. The candidate is responsible for proactive solicitation and management of leads and inquiries. He/she is responsible to contribute to the financial success of the hotel in the assigned market. The right candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues in all departments to promote the hotel’s accommodation and banquets services. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of determination and interpersonal communication skills, leading striving to build meaningful connections.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop a portfolio of group and banquet clients to achieve budgeted revenue and profitability targets (according to the market assigned).

• Maximize revenue through a strategic approach to negotiation and account management.

• Identify new business opportunities and actively contribute to achieving sales objectives.

• Oversee the complete planning of events, including accommodations, meeting space, banquets, and logistics.

• Prepare and manage contracts, Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), and pre-convention meeting summaries.

• Coordinate operations with internal departments to ensure the seamless and successful execution of events.

• Provide exceptional customer service through strong relationship building and effective account development strategies.

• Proactively prospect for new accounts and develop new business opportunities.

• Maintain open, transparent, and effective communication with all departments.

• Demonstrate sound judgment and balanced decision-making based on client needs and hotel objectives.

• Achieve and, whenever possible, exceed established sales and revenue targets.

• Promote the hotel through an active presence within the industry and regular participation in networking events and professional activities.

Qualifications sought 

• Relevant experience in a hospitality Sales Role (3 years minimum)

• Knowledge and experience with the core hotel markets, surroundings and resources

• Post-secondary education in business administration, marketing, hotel management or other related field an asset

• Fluency in English and French (knowledge of another language is an asset)

• Knowledge of English is required for this position, as the duties may involve communication with external stakeholders and English-speaking clients, as well as reviewing documents written in English.
