Optometric Assistant

We are looking for a motivated detail oriented individual, for our busy Optometric Practice and Dispensary at our Regent location.

This is a temporary, fixed full-time, 12 month term position designed to cover a planned maternity leave, with an expected end date in October of 2027; upon return of the permanent employee. There may be the possibility of extension or transitioning to permanent.

We are independent and family owned and believe in providing the highest in patient/customer care. The right candidate can multitask, perform clinical, administrative and customer service duties in order to help the optometrist and team. Strong communication skills and ability to prioritize tasks considered essential to the position. Previous experience considered an asset but not mandatory, and the ability to travel within the city a must.

Some of the key duties include:

• Checking in patients
• Performing pretesting duties and other tests as required by the Optometrist
• Fielding phone calls/calling patients
• Booking appointments

• 40 Hours/week
• Monday to Friday
