Description générale du poste :
Les Services d'aide juridique (SAJ) du Centre francophone du Grand Toronto (CFGT) sont à la recherche d'un(e) avocat(e) bilingue (français et anglais) pour piloter le programme d'appui aux personnes victimes de violences sexuelles.
Sous la supervision de la Directrice des services d'aide juridique, et à titre d'avocat·e spécialisé·e dans les cas de violences à caractère sexuel, vous vous joindrez à une équipe dynamique dont le mandat est d'offrir des services avec une approche holistique. Votre rôle s'articule autour de deux axes : la gestion de différents aspects du projet, et l'accompagnement direct des personnes qui font appel aux services, que ce soit lors du dépôt d'une plainte, d'une médiation ou d'une audience devant le tribunal. Les services incluent la représentation juridique; vous serez donc appelé·e à plaider. Votre soutien permettra aux survivant·e·s de prendre des décisions éclairées quant à leur situation, renforçant leur confiance et leur capacité à faire entendre leur voix, notamment au sein des systèmes de justice pénale et familiale.
RESPONSABILITÉS PRINCIPALES
Services juridiques directs› Fournir des conseils et une représentation juridique aux personnes admissibles au programme
› Plaider devant les instances judiciaires et administratives, et accompagner les personnes lors du dépôt d'une plainte, d'une médiation ou d'une audience
› Favoriser l'autonomie des personnes desservies en leur expliquant le cadre juridique applicable et les options qui s'offrent à elles
› Gérer les dossiers de manière autonome
Gestion et évaluation du projet
› Participer à la gestion du projet, incluant les aspects administratifs et l'organisation de tables rondes et de forums
› Contribuer à l'évaluation du projet, à son amélioration continue et au développement des meilleures pratiques
Formation et éducation juridique
› Animer des ateliers d'éducation juridique communautaire destinés à la clientèle et aux intervenant·e·s de première ligne
› Concevoir et offrir des formations aux professionnels de la justice pénale et familiale (policiers, procureurs, juges) sur la dynamique des violences entre partenaires intimes
Collaboration et liaison externe
› Collaborer étroitement avec les intervenants et partenaires, tant à l'interne qu'à l'externe
› Faire la promotion du projet auprès des organismes communautaires
› Représenter les SAJ au sein de tables de concertation dans le domaine de la violence faite aux femmes
› Accomplir toute autre tâche connexe
QUALIFICATIONS ET EXIGENCES PRINCIPALES
Formation & adhésion professionnelle› Membre en règle du Barreau de l'Ontario
› Expérience démontrée en plaidoirie devant des instances judiciaires et administratives
› Expérience pertinente en matière de violences à caractère sexuel, de harcèlement au travail ou de violence conjugale
Compétences techniques
› Excellentes aptitudes de communication en français et en anglais, à l'écrit comme à l'oral
› Compétences avancées en informatique et en recherche juridique (CanLII, Westlaw, Quicklaw)
