Personal Support Worker (PSW)

Location: Whitby, ON
Pay Rate: Up to $21.00/hour

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and reliable Personal Support Worker (PSW) to support a female senior client living with Dementia and Alzheimer's disease in Whitby, Ontario.

This role is ideal for a dedicated caregiver who is passionate about providing person-centered care, promoting independence, and enhancing quality of life in a home setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and hygiene support
• Support activities of daily living and encourage independence where possible
• Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning
• Provide companionship and meaningful engagement activities
• Monitor client safety, comfort, and overall well-being
• Assist with mobility and transfers as required
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe living environment
• Follow care plans and report changes in the client's condition
• Communicate effectively with family members and the care team

Qualifications & Requirements

• Certified Personal Support Worker (PSW) or equivalent healthcare training
• Minimum 1 year of experience providing care to seniors
• Experience supporting clients with Dementia and Alzheimer's disease preferred
• Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Compassionate, patient, dependable, and professional
• Ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative approach to care
• Current First Aid and CPR certification is considered an asset
