As a Senior FX Artist , you’ll be responsible for creating stunning, high-quality simulations for feature films, television, and high-end projects. From photorealistic fire and smoke to breathtaking explosions and magical FX — your work will help shape the visual experience of audiences around the world.

You’ll collaborate with some of the best talent in the industry, working closely with departments like Build, Animation, and Compositing to deliver visuals that look and feel seamless on screen.

Salary Range $70,000 – $95,000 CAD per year (based on experience and qualifications)

Create realistic FX simulations including smoke, fire, explosions, fluids, and particle effects using Houdini .

Maintain consistent quality and meet tight production deadlines.

Stay up to date with new techniques and tools to enhance FX production.

Professional Tenure: Minimum 5+ years of specialized professional experience working on high-end visual effects for feature films, episodic streaming, or major cinematic productions.

Software Mastery: Exceptional, demonstrable proficiency in Houdini , paired with a strong artistic eye for scale, timing, composition, and detail.

A deep, intuitive grasp of real-world dynamics, physical motion, gravity, and material behavior.

Technical Bonus: Working familiarity with Nuke compositing pipelines, Python scripting, or similar technical tools is considered a strong advantage.
