With a staff of 14,000, the TCDSB is a dynamic school board and is seeking a full time Administrative Assistant -HR within the Human Resources department.
Reporting to the Supervisor, Human Resources General Inquiries & Support, the primary purpose of this job is to provide administrative support to the assigned department, for special projects, preparing reports, completing forms and responding to enquiries. The Administrative Assistant will be required to perform additional responsibilities specific to the area of responsibility, as well as other related duties as assigned.
Prepare and edit correspondence, reports and documentation related to HR matters
Maintain HR systems, update employee records, and manage confidential files
Respond to general HR enquiries effectively and relay messages to relevant stakeholders when needed
Maintain and update data, generate reports and related analysis pertaining to the assigned area, etc.
Compile data, statistics and other information to support research activities
May train other office staff in procedures and in use of current software
Perform other duties as assigned to support the HR Operations teams and contribute to the overall HR department goals
Two-year College Diploma in Human Resources/related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of one (1) year experience in Human Resources or related environment, preferably with a unionized, public sector employer
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite e.g. Outlook, MS Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint, (skills assessment testing will be required for qualified applicants if previous testing was not performed)
HRIS system experience, preferably HR Success Factors
Demonstrated ability to balance multiple tasks with competing deadlines, while prioritizing daily and weekly activities and projects on-demand, in a very busy environment with constant demands and interruptions
Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Flexibility to work overtime as required to meet the department's needs
