Community Manager - Remote

Compensation & details:

• $18.51/hour
• 10–15 hours/week
• Whitehorse, Yukon — hybrid (remote + in-person)
• Contract end date: 3 to 4 months from the date of hire.

This position is funded through the Art of Work program by the Students Commission of Canada (SCC) and Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC).

Eligibility requirement: Applicants must be 15-30 years old and a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected person legally entitled to work in Canada. This is a condition of the program funding. About BBYN

Beyond Borders Youth Network (BBYN) is a Yukon-based nonprofit supporting immigrant and refugee youth through programming, skill-building, outdoor activities, and community connection. We're growing, and we're hiring our very first paid team member.

About the role

This position is part of the Art of Work program, led by the Students Commission of Canada (SCC) and funded by Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC), a national program designed to give young people furthest from opportunity a quality employment experience that supports their transition into adulthood.

At BBYN, that means you'll be doing real, meaningful work from day one. You'll take ownership of outreach, events, social media, and program coordination, working closely with BBYN's founder to grow our presence and deepen our impact in the Yukon newcomer youth community.

• Plan and support youth programs, workshops, and community events
• Lead outreach efforts and build relationships with youth and partner organizations
• Create social media content and promote BBYN's activities online
• Coordinate event logistics and communications
• Support BBYN's Annual General Meeting (AGM) and board operations
• Help recruit community volunteers and board members
• Participate in national Art of Work activities, workshops, and skill-building sessions organized by SCC
• Other duties as assigned by the Board President
