Finanical Coordinator

About the Role

Canadian Mental Health Association Yukon is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Coordinator to support the organization’s day-to-day financial operations, including payroll, accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, reporting, budgeting support, and funding tracking.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate payroll through Payworks, including timesheet review, benefits, pension contributions, CRA remittances, and year-end payroll processes

• Process invoices, expense claims, vendor payments, receivables, and cash flow tracking

• Collaborate with the bookkeeper to maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks

• Prepare monthly financial reports for the Executive Director and support reporting to the Board of Directors

• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and tracking financial performance against budgets

• Track funding agreements, restricted funds, program allocations, and funder reporting requirements

• Support year-end processes, external audit preparation and internal financial controls

• Develop financial policies and procedures for the organization, aiming to optimize the accounting cycle.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field

• 2–5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience

• Experience with payroll coordination and financial reporting

• Proficiency with QuickBooks or similar accounting software

• Strong Excel, reconciliation, organization, and attention-to-detail skills

Assets

• Experience in a nonprofit or multi-funded environment

• Familiarity with contribution agreements and grant reporting

• Experience preparing reports for senior leadership or boards

Working Conditions

This is a full-time, office-based position, Monday to Friday, with occasional flexibility. There may be periods of increased workload during audit preparation and fiscal year-end. The position offers an opportunity to grow in a collaborative and mission-driven workplace.
