What You'll Do:
Manage Operations: Lead a team of site operators to ensure top-notch customer service and meet sales targets. You'll be accountable for the profit and loss statement in your territory, ensuring financial health and operational efficiency.
Identify Gaps: Spot areas for improvement in site performance, such as customer service, sales, and operational processes. Provide tools, processes, and support to help site operators address these gaps and enhance profitability.
Maximize Sales: Drive sales by coaching, motivating, and inspiring operators. Implement effective performance management strategies to ensure high performance and growth within the marketplace.
Recruit & Lead: Attract and select the best operators. Build a pipeline of potential candidates and manage succession planning to ensure a steady flow of talent. Train and develop operators to excel in their roles.
Safety First: Ensure safe operations by adhering to Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) standards. Maintain operating standards, contracts, and manuals, and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
Customer Focus: Inspire operators to deliver superior customer experiences. Coach them on getting the basics right and consistently delivering on customer promises. Improve customer perception and operational excellence at each site.
HSSE: Develop a strong HSSE culture within your territory. Deliver agreed HSSE targets and manage stakeholder relationships proactively to protect the company's interests and reputation.
Coach & Support: Provide visible leadership and performance management for site operators. Use appropriate tools to train and develop site staff, emphasizing the importance of people in delivering customer commitment.
Profitability: Meet profitability targets, volume targets, differentiated fuels volume targets, convenience retailing targets, and operating standards targets. Set business plans with site operators and develop action plans to close performance gaps.
Collaborate: Work with colleagues across the business to support marketing and network initiatives. Ensure great and consistent execution of the 4 Ps (Product, Price, Placement, Promotion) at all sites. Conduct site visits and supervise performance to ensure operational excellence.
Challenges:
Fast-paced role requiring self-motivation and strong interpersonal skills. You'll need to manage multiple priorities and deliver results through others.
Engage and influence site operators for excellence and performance.
Flexibility and availability for emergencies outside of normal working hours. You'll need to take strong ownership and accountability of territory performance and results.
Requirements:
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 5+ years in a similar role.
- Valid Provincial Driver's License.
- Strong leadership attributes (Authenticity, Collaboration, Performance, Growth) and adherence to core values (Honesty, Integrity, Respect).
- Self-starter with a track record of delivering results. Demonstrable competence in implementing standard processes, achieving sales targets, building relationships, and delivering customer commitments.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
- High mobility and a valid driver's license with safe and defensive driving skills.
- Retail experience is a plus, but outstanding candidates without it are welcome. You'll need to show evidence of a professional work style, including conflict handling and building strong, long-lasting relationships.
