We’re hiring an Accountant (6-month contract, potential to extend) We’re looking for an Accountant to join a retail-focused team and support day-to-day transactional accounting and reconciliations. This is a 6-month contract, with a strong possibility of extension.
In this role, you’ll be working across multiple systems, handling reconciliations, supporting AP, and helping ensure everything ties out accurately in a fast-moving environment.
What you’ll be doing
Reconciling settlement files from third-party providers with internal records
Managing cash receipts and processing payments
Handling AP reconciliations and preparing invoices for payment
Looking into discrepancies and working with vendors to resolve issues
Monitoring receivables and following up on outstanding items
Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations (credit cards, loyalty, gift cards)
Posting journal entries in SAP (or similar systems)
Supporting reporting, analysis, and ad-hoc projects as needed
What we’re looking for
Minimum 3+ years of full-cycle accounting experience
CPA designation or currently in progress is an asset
Strong reconciliation skills and attention to detail
Experience with SAP or another ERP system
Solid Excel skills
Someone who’s analytical, proactive, and comfortable digging into discrepancies
Nice to have
Experience with tools like Blackline or Allegro
Background in retail or multi-location environments
Exposure to payment processing (credit/debit/loyalty)
