The Canadian Press is looking for an Account Executive to join our team immediately in a full-time position reporting to the Vice-President, Sales & Marketing and located in Toronto, Ottawa or Montreal. Our Sales & Marketing team is responsible for promoting, selling and providing customer service for a growing suite of solutions, including:
Licensed news content (articles, photos, graphics, video, audio) used by clients such as The Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, La Presse, CTV, CBC, Yahoo, MSN and many more;
Branded content (blog posts, whitepapers, ebooks, photos, video, infographics), tailor made for each client’s exclusive use in their content marketing program; We are revolutionizing this flagship platform and looking for an experienced, Account Executive to prospect and sign new clients for the next generation of our SaaS products focused on public relations, marketing and communications professionals.

As an Account Executive, you will develop and close new business opportunities in Canada, targeting PR/communications professionals at enterprise accounts, small and medium-sized businesses, agencies, associations, government organizations and not-for-profits.
Achieve or exceed sales quotas and sales activity targets.
Develop, maintain and convert a pipeline of qualified prospects into new revenue, including: researching and identifying the right contacts within the target markets; booking meetings via a consistent volume of quality outbound activity (emails, cold-calls, Linkedin messages); and, effectively using our Salesforce CRM to maintain an up-to-date pipeline with accurate customer and opportunity details, next steps and expected close dates.
Create proposal decks, respond to RFPs and negotiate contract terms.
Manage and grow the client relationship from pitch to sale to upselling, staying top-of-mind via timely follow-ups and by gaining a thorough understanding of their business, objectives and pain points.
Demonstrate knowledge and expertise in our products and develop a strong understanding of our target markets by staying abreast of the topics and trends relevant to PR professionals.
Minimum three years of B2B SaaS sales experience is required, preferably in roles focused on outbound sales.
The ideal candidate has a well-developed contact network of managers, directors and VPs within the target audience to “hit the ground running”.
Experience working at companies that sell end-to-end PR platforms that include media relations tools is an asset.
Persuasive and a proven closer with excellent presentation, verbal and written communications skills in English. Verbal and written communication skills in French are an asset.
Solutions-oriented with superior relationship-building skills and the ability to generate interest and urgency, uncover customer needs, present relevant products/services, overcome objections and motivate action throughout the sales cycle.
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably a Bachelor of Commerce.
Proficient in MS Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience using Salesforce is an asset.

À titre de chargé(e) de compte, vous développerez et conclurez de nouvelles ventes au Canada, ciblant les professionnels des relations publiques et des communications, les petites et moyennes entreprises, les agences, associations et organisations gouvernementales, ainsi que les organismes à but non lucratif
Atteindre et dépasser les quotas de vente et les objectifs d’activité commerciale.
Développer, maintenir et convertir un pipeline de prospects qualifiés en de nouveaux revenus, incluant la recherche et l’identification des bons contacts dans les marchés ciblés; l’organisation de rencontres grâce à un volume constant d’activités sortantes de qualité (courriels, appels, messages LinkedIn); et l’utilisation efficace de notre Salesforce CRM pour maintenir le pipeline à jour avec des renseignements exacts sur les clients et occasions d’affaires, les prochaines étapes et les dates de clôture prévues.
Créer des dossiers de proposition, répondre aux demandes de proposition et négocier les modalités du contrat.
Gérer et développer la relation avec le client, de la présentation à la vente, en passant par la vente incitative, en restant à l'écoute grâce à des suivis opportuns et en acquérant une compréhension approfondie de son activité, de ses objectifs et de ses difficultés.
Démontrer une connaissance et une expertise de nos produits et développer une forte compréhension de nos marchés cibles en se tenant au courant des sujets et des tendances intéressant les professionnels des relations publiques.
Un minimum de trois ans de vente B2B SaaS est nécessaire, de préférence dans des tâches axées sur les ventes sortantes.
Une expérience préalable de la vente aux décideurs en matière de relations publiques, de marketing et de communication est fortement souhaitée. L’expérience de travail dans des entreprises qui vendent des plateformes bout en bout de relations publiques comprenant des outils de surveillance des médias est un atout.
Sens de la persuasion avec de bons résultats en affaires, ainsi que d'excellentes compétences en matière de présentation, de communication verbale et écrite en anglais. Des compétences en communication verbale et écrite en français sont un atout.
Être orienté(e) vers les solutions et doté(e) d'excellentes aptitudes à établir des relations et d'une capacité à susciter l'intérêt et l'urgence, à découvrir les besoins des clients, à présenter des produits/services pertinents, à surmonter les objections et à motiver l'action tout au long du cycle de vente.
Un baccalauréat ou l’équivalent, préférablement un diplôme en commerce.
Maîtrise des applications MS Office (p. Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
L’expérience de l’utilisation de Salesforce est un atout.
