Director of HR & Recruitment

We are seeking an HR Director to join a long‑established, family‑run Canadian organization operating across construction, development, and industrial services. This is not a traditional corporate HR job. You will build trust, uplift morale, modernize HR practices, and act as a strategic advisor to leadership, all while staying closely connected to people on the ground.

Coach leaders on performance, feedback, and team development.
Lead recruitment through generational change and future growth.
Strengthen hiring to focus on impact, fit, and long‑term potential.
Bring structure to performance reviews, development, and succession.
Simplify and standardize HR processes where they add real value.
Stay visible and present in the field — this role is not desk‑bound.

Full‑cycle HR experience in a small‑to‑mid‑size or standalone environment.
Experience in construction, real estate, or operational industries is a strong asset.
Proven ability to build HR foundations without overengineering.
Strong culture‑building, engagement, and change leadership skills.
Required: hands‑on Dayforce experience and solid Microsoft 365 skills.
