Our company is looking for a Senior Commercial Account Manager to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in actively in cross-sell campaigns and other initiatives as required;
  • Review client’s current coverage and exposures, loss experience and analyze risk to determine the product/service requirements;
  • Responsible for the preparation of proposals for prospect and stewardship reviews for existing clients;
  • Manage account documentation (i.e., routine inquires, quotes, binders, statement of values, insurance contracts, endorsements, cancellations, etc.);
  • Review new business applications and issue policy documents;
  • Maintains up-to-date TAM workflow documentation and ensures workflows are followed;
  • Attend professional development programs to grow your knowledge as a professional;
  • In collaboration with Producers; coordinate, support plans, discuss arising issues and create comprehensive plans for existing clients;
  • Maintain positive working relationships with clients, staff, other departments and offices;
  • Manage all aspects of loan proposals while rating and assessing credit;
  • Participate in training and professional development courses to enhance skills and industry knowledge;
  • Make changes to clients existing client policies as necessary;
  • Advise clients on claim processes and procedures and when necessary, resolve conflict or advocate on a clients behalf;
  • Responsible for managing a renewal book of business;
  • To discuss service offerings with new and existing customers in in order to grow service client base and services provided.

Requirements:

  • Ability to be a self starter with strong written and oral communication skills as well as organizational skills;
  • Client development/relationship management experience;
  • Advanced skills in Outlook, Excel, Word and TAM;
  • Superb interpersonal skills, presentation skills and attention to detail;
  • R.I.B.O and C.I.P designation required as well as C.A.I.B or at minimum working towards the designation;
  • Mentorship of Junior Account Managers;
  • Understanding and experience working with Indigenous communities is essential;
  • Demonstrated background in business development;
  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration;
  • Proven customer service attitude with excellent communication skills;
  • Proven negotiation skills;
  • A team player able to work independently;
  • Minimum 5 years commercial insurance experience;
  • 3 to 5 years experience dealing with entrepreneurs with a thorough understanding of business opportunity;
  • Understanding of Indigenous funding opportunities.
