Physical Design Engineering Lead Toronto

Astera Labs is hiring a Physical Design Engineering Manager in Toronto. Focus on leading a team to drive design execution for advanced connectivity ASIC solutions. In this pivotal role, you’ll bring over ten years of hands-on physical design experience and lead a team dedicated to high-speed connectivity projects. The position emphasizes mentoring and development while managing the complete design flow from RTL to GDSII. Your efforts will directly contribute to high-performance ASICs for major data centers and AI applications. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead physical design implementations from concept to completion
- Mentor and develop a skilled team of engineers
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for design validation
- Implement best practices in design methodologies
- Ensure seamless coordination with global design teams
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering
- Extensive experience with complex SoCs
- Team leadership experience within engineering contexts
- Strong knowledge of Cadence and Synopsys tools
- Proficiency in scripting with Tcl, Python, or Perl
