Senior Business Analyst (Deposit Liabilities)

We are looking for a Senior BA with a robust deposit liabilities lifecycle background for a minimum 6‑month contract opportunity with our client. The Senior Business Analyst will serve as a key liaison between the business and the Information Technology group.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage requirements; elicit, analyze, and validate requirements for new or existing processes, policies, and information systems.
• Understand business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements and recommend solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals on time and within budget.
• Identify, track, escalate, and/or resolve business systems issues.
• Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with business clients and stakeholders to capture business and process flow requirements.
• Accurately translate results of requirements gathering sessions into usable project documentation.
• Ensure stakeholder requirements are transparent, accurate, and detailed enough to support downstream design and development activities.
• Document end‑to‑end business processes (ASIS vs. TOBE) and communicate impact of changes for implementation planning.
• Update requirements documents throughout the full lifecycle of a product (pre‑ and post‑production).
• Participate in training and knowledge‑transfer sessions as needed.
• Provide mentoring and coaching on best practices to project teams and junior team members.
• Lead detailed requirement phases and act as team lead for the requirements gathering process for projects, maintenance releases, or support troubleshooting for defect resolution.
• Business Requirements Elicitation and Process Flows: 70%, Testing: 10%, Performance Management: 5%, Risk and compliance: 15%.
• Create functional, user, non‑functional, implementation, and report specifications, and maintain the traceability matrix.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7+years of experience creating business requirement documents and managing requirements from project initiation through to production release.
• Experience with savings, deposits, and fixed‑term deposit lifecycles.
• Familiarity with the loan application/origination process.
• Experience with core banking platforms.
• Knowledge of SAP is an asset.
• Solid knowledge of SDLC and PMLC.
• Strong financial services knowledge of online banking, retail banking, mortgage lending, and visa processing.
• Strong customer focus and a service‑oriented culture.
• Excellent analytical, attention to detail, problem‑solving, and decision‑making capabilities.
• Strong English written and verbal communications skills.
• Ability to work independently with strong time management to meet tight deadlines.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, and Visio.
• Solid understanding of current IT infrastructure components to support reuse where possible.
• Business process re‑engineering experience is an advantage.
• Good organizational and coordination skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to influence peers and leaders for best outcomes.

Additional Information

This is a minimum 6‑month contract with a likely extension, located in downtown Toronto. Work from home is allowed until deemed safe.
