Summer Junior Camp Counsellors Needed
Child Development Institute
Be a part of the Child Development Institute's Camp Wimodausis as a Junior Camp Counsellor. This role supports the implementation of therapeutic programming aimed at enhancing children's emotional and social skills.
We are hiring two enthusiastic individuals for a 6-week contract to assist camp counsellors with program delivery and other activities. As a Junior Camp Counsellor, you will work closely with children facing behavioral challenges and utilize evidence-based strategies like SNAP®. Your compassionate approach and leadership will guide campers positively.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with the execution of camp programs daily
• Support counselors in developing therapeutic strategies
• Act as a role model to children, families, and staff
• Engage with other camp operations as assigned
• Foster an inclusive environment among diverse groups
Requirements:
• Experience with SNAP strategies in behavior management
• Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification
• Valid and up-to-date police record check
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Background in social work or child-related fields preferred
