Director, Consulting Expert (DCE)
KBRS
For 50 years, CGI has combined human ingenuity with the power of technology to help clients achieve meaningful outcomes. Founded in Québec City in 1976, CGI has grown to become one of the world’s largest IT and business consulting services firms, with approximately 94,000 consultants and professionals across hundreds of locations worldwide.
CGI provides end-to-end IT and business consulting services spanning strategic consulting, systems integration, managed services, artificial intelligence, data and analytics, cloud, cybersecurity, and proprietary technology solutions. Insights-driven and outcomes-focused, CGI helps organizations navigate complexity, accelerate transformation, improve performance, and realize greater value from their technology investments.
Central to CGI’s approach is its client proximity model, which combines the scale, expertise and capabilities of a global organization with strong local relationships and market knowledge. This allows CGI to bring global insights and resources to clients while delivering services through teams that understand the industries, communities and markets in which they operate.
CGI has an established presence across Atlantic Canada, with offices in Halifax, Fredericton, Moncton and St. John’s. Atlantic Canadian operations include CGI’s Canadian credit union services practice, as well as its systems integration and consulting business across the region.
CGI is seeking a Director, Consulting Expert (DCE) to serve as a trusted executive advisor, recognized subject matter expert and market-facing consulting leader across Atlantic Canada.
The DCE combines deep expertise with executive advisory, business development, thought leadership and practice development. Working with senior client executives, the DCE helps organizations define transformation strategies, redesign business processes and operating models, and identify where emerging technologies, including AI, can create measurable business value.
The DCE also plays an important role in creating and shaping strategic consulting opportunities, expanding executive client relationships, developing new consulting offerings and contributing to CGI’s long-term consulting growth.
A Director, Consulting Expert may specialize in:
- a sector, such as healthcare, broader public sector, retail, advanced manufacturing or defence
- an activity, such as business transformation, digital transformation or systems integration
- a functional or technology domain, such as privacy, data or artificial intelligence
The DCE can be based anywhere in Nova Scotia or New Brunswick and must have the ability to obtain reliability or security clearances as required by CGI clients. Travel within Atlantic Canada will be required.
What Does This Role Entail?
Reporting to the Vice-President of Consulting Services, Atlantic Canada, the DCE works alongside CGI’s Directors of Consulting Services, account leaders, industry experts, architects and delivery teams to bridge business strategy, technology and execution.
The DCE will:
- Build trusted relationships with senior executives and position CGI as a strategic advisor on complex business and technology transformation.
- Lead executive advisory engagements, strategy sessions and workshops that translate business challenges into actionable transformation strategies and roadmaps.
- Originate, shape and help advance strategic consulting opportunities, working with account and business development leaders to expand existing relationships and develop new markets.
- Bring deep expertise and market insight to major pursuits, proposals and client presentations, strengthening CGI’s ability to differentiate and win strategic engagements.
- Translate emerging technologies, including AI, advanced analytics and automation, into practical business opportunities and measurable client outcomes.
- Identify opportunities to develop and commercialize new consulting services, methodologies, accelerators and reusable intellectual property.
- Build CGI’s external profile through industry participation, executive forums, conferences, publications, partnerships and thought leadership.
- Collaborate across consulting, account, architecture and delivery teams to ensure strategies can be translated into solutions that create lasting client value.
- Mentor consultants, share expertise, strengthen methodologies and develop future consulting capability.
- Contribute to consulting revenue growth, qualified pipeline development, account expansion and sustainable practice growth.
This is an opportunity to help shape CGI’s consulting practice across the Atlantic Business Unit and become the expert clients ask for by name.
As the Ideal Candidate, You:
- Bring 12+ years of progressively senior experience leading complex business transformation, consulting or technology-enabled transformation engagements, with demonstrated success improving operating models, business processes and organizational performance.
- Have deep expertise and recognized credibility in a defined sector, business discipline or technology domain relevant to complex public- or private-sector organizations.
- Have demonstrated experience advising senior executives and translating complex business and technology issues into clear strategies, decisions and executable roadmaps.
- Bring a commercial consulting mindset, with experience identifying client needs, shaping opportunities, supporting or leading pursuits, and expanding strategic client relationships.
- Can translate emerging technologies into practical business outcomes and provide strategic leadership to multidisciplinary teams responsible for solution design and delivery.
- Have experience collaborating across consulting, account, technology and delivery teams in complex or regulated environments such as government, healthcare or financial services.
- Demonstrate exceptional executive-level communication, facilitation, relationship-building and presentation skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Bring intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging technologies such as AI, advanced analytics and automation, combined with the ability to identify where they can create measurable business value.
- Can contribute to the development of consulting capabilities, methodologies, offerings and thought leadership while mentoring and developing others.
- Are comfortable representing CGI externally and building credibility with executives, industry organizations and strategic partners.
