Vice-President, Consulting Services - Atlantic Canada
KBRS
Company Overview
For 50 years, CGI has combined human ingenuity with the power of technology to help clients achieve meaningful outcomes. Founded in Québec City in 1976, CGI has grown to become one of the world’s largest IT and business consulting services firms, with approximately 94,000 consultants and professionals across hundreds of locations worldwide.
CGI provides end-to-end IT and business consulting services spanning strategic consulting, systems integration, managed services, artificial intelligence, data and analytics, cloud, cybersecurity, and proprietary technology solutions. Insights-driven and outcomes-focused, CGI helps organizations navigate complexity, accelerate transformation, improve performance, and realize greater value from their technology investments.
Central to CGI’s approach is its client proximity model, which combines the scale, expertise and capabilities of a global organization with strong local relationships and market knowledge. This allows CGI to bring global insights and resources to clients while delivering services through teams that understand the industries, communities and markets in which they operate.
CGI has an established presence across Atlantic Canada, with offices in Halifax, Fredericton, Moncton, PEI and St. John’s. Atlantic Canadian operations include CGI’s Canadian credit union services practice, as well as its systems integration and consulting business across the region.
CGI is seeking a Vice‑President, Consulting Services - Atlantic Canada to lead and grow its consulting business across the region. This is a highly visible executive leadership opportunity with accountability for profitable growth, business development, executive client relationships, financial performance, consulting delivery and leadership of CGI’s regional consulting organization.
The successful candidate will be a recognized leader in the Atlantic Canadian business community who can strengthen CGI’s market position, expand strategic client relationships, create new business opportunities and build a high‑performing consulting organization positioned for sustainable growth.
What Does This Role Entail?
Reporting to the Senior Vice‑President, the Vice‑President will lead CGI’s Atlantic Canadian consulting business, including its Director Consulting Services (DCS) and Director Consulting Expert (DCE) leadership, and have overall accountability for the regional P&L.
Business development and regional growth will be central to the mandate. The Vice‑President will spend a significant portion of their time in the market—building executive relationships, developing new opportunities, expanding existing strategic accounts and strengthening CGI’s presence across Atlantic Canada.
You will:
- Develop and execute the regional consulting and growth strategy aligned with CGI Canada’s priorities.
- Own the financial performance of the business, including revenue growth, bookings, profitability, pipeline, forecasting, utilization and overall P&L performance.
- Personally build relationships with senior executives and decision‑makers across the public and private sectors and position CGI as a trusted strategic partner.
- Originate, shape and advance significant consulting opportunities, expand strategic accounts and develop new client relationships.
- Lead executive sales discussions, major pursuits and strategic negotiations, working with CGI leaders and experts to differentiate CGI and convert market opportunities into sustainable revenue.
- Strengthen leadership capability and build a high‑performing, accountable and engaged consulting organization.
- Provide executive oversight of consulting delivery, client satisfaction, portfolio performance and significant client or delivery risks.
- Bring together CGI’s regional, national and global capabilities to address complex client business and technology challenges.
- Identify emerging market opportunities and expand CGI’s capabilities in areas such as AI, digital transformation, cloud, cybersecurity and data, while supporting the development of new consulting offerings.
- Represent CGI as a senior executive in the Atlantic Canadian business community through industry associations, executive networks, strategic partnerships, conferences and community leadership.
This is an opportunity to have a significant impact on the future of CGI in Atlantic Canada—growing the business, developing its leaders, expanding executive client relationships and strengthening CGI’s position as a leading consulting and technology partner across the region.
As the Ideal Candidate, You:
- Bring progressive senior leadership experience, ideally within consulting, professional services or a technology‑enabled business, with demonstrated success leading complex organizations and delivering sustained commercial growth.
- Have proven experience with P&L accountability and achieving revenue, bookings and profitability objectives.
- Have a strong record of business development and consultative selling, including personally creating and advancing significant opportunities and expanding strategic client relationships.
- Understand the Atlantic Canadian marketplace and bring a well‑established executive network across the region.
- Bring the executive presence and credibility to develop trusted relationships with CEOs, CIOs and other senior executives, as well as senior government and public‑sector leaders.
- Understand how consulting services are bought and sold and can navigate complex, multi‑stakeholder sales environments from initial relationship and opportunity creation through pursuit, negotiation and close.
- Are a commercially minded, strategic and forward‑looking leader who understands the levers that drive a successful consulting business and can translate market opportunities into clear business priorities and measurable results.
- Have experience leading and developing senior leaders, building leadership bench strength, supporting succession and creating an environment of accountability, trust and collaboration.
- Bring strong financial and commercial acumen, with the ability to balance growth, profitability, investment, delivery, client and people considerations.
- Build trust quickly across diverse stakeholder groups. Curious and consultative, you listen well, ask thoughtful questions, communicate with confidence and navigate differing perspectives effectively.
- Bring sufficient technology fluency to engage credibly with executives on areas such as artificial intelligence, cloud, cybersecurity, data and digital transformation, while knowing when to draw upon specialist expertise.
- Are comfortable operating within a large, matrixed global organization and can build alignment and mobilize expertise across businesses, functions and geographies.
- Are comfortable representing CGI externally and building relationships across the Atlantic Canadian business, government, technology, academic and innovation communities.
Education and Experience
A degree in business, technology or a related discipline is preferred, with an MBA or equivalent graduate degree considered a strong asset.
The successful candidate will bring extensive consulting or professional‑services leadership experience, demonstrated P&L and commercial accountability, a strong record of business development and executive relationship management, and a history of building high‑performing organizations and sustainable business growth.
The role is based in Nova Scotia, with a regular presence in CGI’s Halifax office and travel throughout Atlantic Canada.
The principles of equal opportunity employment will be upheld throughout this process.
