Digital Multichannel UX Designer (12-Month Contract)

This role can be based out of any of our offices located in Halifax, NS; Stellarton, NS; Dartmouth. NS; Mississauga, ON; Montreal, QC.

The Digital Multichannel UX Designer plays a critical role in crafting high-performing, visually engaging customer engagement assets across email, push, SMS, and digital marketing channels. This role is responsible for designing multi-channel campaign templates, dynamic content assets, and creative concepts that align with strategic business goals and personalization strategies.

As part of the DCE Multichannel Design Team, this specialist collaborates with Strategy, Personalization, UX Optimization, Segmentation, and Deployment teams to deliver data-driven, brand-aligned designs that enhance engagement and conversion rates.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Asset & Campaign Design

• Design visually compelling, conversion-optimized email, push, and SMS assets that support multi-channel marketing initiatives.
• Develop modular and reusable templates for SFMC-powered campaigns, ensuring consistency across different audience segments.
• Optimize responsive designs for engagement across various devices and email clients.
• Align designs with brand guidelines, personalization strategies, and customer experience best practices.

Strategic Collaboration & Execution

• Partner with DCE stakeholders to align creative assets with campaign goals and customer segmentation models.
• Present creative recommendations and innovative solutions to enhance engagement and improve click-through rates.
• Act as a subject matter expert in multi-channel creative best practices, ensuring high-quality execution across customer journeys.
• Work closely with Personalization and Segmentation teammates to implement dynamic content and data-driven creative strategies.

Template Development & Personalization Support

• Build scalable, flexible design systems that allow for dynamic content variations.
• Support the automation and deployment teams in optimizing designs for real-time personalization and audience targeting.
• Ensure creative templates integrate seamlessly into SFMC-driven marketing workflows.

Quality Assurance & Performance Optimization

• Conduct design testing using Litmus or similar platforms to ensure rendering, accessibility, and responsiveness.
• Work with UX Optimization to refine layouts based on behavioral insights and A/B testing results.
• Continuously analyze design performance metrics, identifying opportunities for creative refinement.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in email, push, or multi-channel marketing design.
• Expertise in responsive design, accessibility standards, and email UX best practices.
• Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD), and Sketch.
• Experience designing assets for Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) or similar automation platforms.
• Familiarity with Litmus or other email testing platforms for cross-client rendering validation.
• Strong understanding of direct-to-customer personalization across email, push, SMS, and web.
• Basic HTML/CSS knowledge to troubleshoot design implementation issues.
• Strong project management and collaboration skills to support multiple teams and deadlines.

Consultant Role & Engagement Terms

• Contract-based role supporting the DCE Multichannel Design Team.
• Focus on multi-channel creative production, personalization strategy, and UX design optimization.
• Works closely with Personalization, UX Optimization, Segmentation, and Deployment teams.
• Duration and scope determined by business needs and strategic priorities.
