Warehouse and Distribution Manager

Job Responsibility:

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

The Warehouse and Logistics Manager will be primarily responsible for ensuring that all warehouse activities are carried out safely and efficiently in a cost effective manner, under the direction of the Vice President & General Manager of the facility.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

· Oversee the daily workflow of the warehouse; schedule and organize staff to ensure proper staffing of all shifts, so the team performs duties in a safe and efficient manner.

• Hire and train new warehouse employees, and provide annual re-training of all current warehouse employees, which includes annual forklift certification of all warehouse employees.
• Conducts performance evaluations in a timely and constructive manner.
• Handles disciplinary actions as needed in accordance with company policy.

DIMENSIONS, TASKS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Manage shipping, receiving, distribution, and inventory functions at all Toronto warehouse locations: Orenda Rd (Brampton) and Kimbel St (Mississauga)

• Receive and store all material in a safe, timely, and efficient manner. Achieve material receipt accuracy from suppliers and customers of 99%.
• Maintain inventory accuracy performance with 99% for the week, month and year.
• Manage the timely delivery of material to pre-weigh and production departments to support Production Plan and Production Work Orders, and achieve on-time delivery. Achieve line outage performance to 1 or less times a month.
• Achieve raw material and finished goods damage performance of 1 or less incident per month, and valued at less than $500 per month.
• Ensure customer delivery of finished goods per customer instructions on a timely and efficient manner. Prioritize and process shipments using the ERP system and in coordination with Sales and Accounting teams. Achieve on-time shipment status of 99%.
• Oversee the accurate processing of transactions in customer distribution portals and achieve 100% performance.
• Achieve warehouse capacity utilization rate for all three warehouse locations below 90% to ensure all warehouse functions perform in an efficient and safe manner.
• Achieve zero TRI (Total Recordable Incident) rate performance for the warehouses.
• Support QA with access to samples within 24 hours of request.
• Negotiate transportation rates and services with freight carriers to obtain the most cost-effective and efficient means of transporting products and materials.
• Analyze the financial impact of proposed logistic changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes/mixes or carriers.
• Support GMP, regulatory agency, and customer audits to achieve 95%+ result.
• Supervise, coach and train warehouse workforce team. Achieve overall attendance rate of 98% for the month and year.
• Performs other duties as assigned .

• Daily Direction Setting (DDS) meeting
• Weekly Warehouse management meeting
• Monthly Warehouse Utilization meeting
• Any others as requested.

AUTHORITY

This position reports to the Vice President Operations and General Manager for Toronto Operations.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

Warehouse supervisors, leads and associates.

CLASSIFICATION

This is a full-time /permanent role.

EDUCATION

· Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, or Business Administration.

WORK EXPERIENCE

· Five years of related experience preferred

• 3+ years' experience in the manufacturing industry & GMP environment preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Strong problem-solving abilities

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office programs
• Supervisory and interpersonal skills preferred

SPECIAL DEMANDS

· Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.

• Must be able to traverse and access all areas of the warehouse.
