Reservations Manager

We currently have an employment opportunity for a full time Reservations Manager.

The Reservations Manager would lead and supervise the Reservations Team, who are responsible for the input of guest reservations, including the handling of group bookings, group blocks, VIP's and incoming reservations from the internet.

The chosen candidate will use their proven leadership skills to drive their team to success, ensuring that each client receives outstanding levels of service, and that all hotel policies and procedures are followed.

DUTIES:

• Oversee all staff and aspects of the Reservations Department;
• Assist the Reservations Agents with handling telephone and e-mail inquiries, and with entering bookings as necessary;
• Generate and check daily sets of reports to check for reservation and rate consistency;
• Ensure all Advance Deposits are handled accurately;
• Assist with commissions when required, including bi-monthly processing for payment, and ensuring payments are sent out in a timely matter;
• Hire and train new staff as required;
• Handle Payroll for the department;
• Arrange all Scheduling, according to demand and availability;
• Assist in arranging any special amenity deliveries to rooms as required;
• Coordinate and / or oversee all Groups and Tours from the point of contract, through until departure;
• Coordinate all FIT rates and bookings, which include loading and keeping detailed track of all rates for all periods;
• Assist the Revenue Manager with Rate Management and Yielding;
• Attend and / or contribute to weekly Manager and Sales meetings;
• Maintain very effective communication via phone and e-mail;
• Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 2 years Hotel Industry experience, with 1 year Supervisory experience in a similar role;
• Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Opera or Opera Cloud, Travelclick & Microsoft Office suite (Outlook in particular);
• Detail oriented;
• Excellent Guest Service skills;
• Self motivated, displaying strong initiative and independent decision making;
• Must be able to work well with others;
• Must have strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written;
• Very highly organized;
• Ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision;
• Ability to work both weekdays, and weekends when required by scheduling;
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada;
• Must reside in the B.C. Lower Mainland area.
