Labour & Employment Legal Assistant

Our client, a leading Labour and Employment law firm, is seeking a Legal Assistant to join their team. This role follows a hybrid schedule with 4 days in office and 1 day remote.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal and administrative support to lawyers within the labour and employment practice.
• Prepare correspondence and legal documents, including court filings and materials for administrative tribunals such as the Ontario Labour Relations Board and the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario.
• Ensure timely service and filing of documents in accordance with the Rules of Civil Procedure and applicable tribunal procedures.
• Manage document production and maintain organized physical and electronic filing systems.
• Coordinate schedules, maintain calendars, and manage tickler and reminder systems to ensure deadlines are met.
• Perform general administrative duties, including supporting other legal assistants as needed.
• Maintain accurate document management practices and file organization.
• Assist with additional administrative tasks as required to support the team.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a legal assistant in a law firm environment.
• Legal Administrative Assistant diploma or certificate considered a strong asset.
• Strong knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure and tribunal processes.
• Excellent administrative, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional demeanor.
• Ability to take initiative and work independently.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Windows-based systems.
• Flexibility to work occasional overtime as required.
