Job Responsibility:
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Cook to join our catering kitchen team. In this role, you will assist in preparing a variety of dishes for medium to large-scale events, following established recipes to ensure quality and taste. This is a great opportunity to learn and grow in a kitchen environment while contributing to the success of our events. You will work closely with the kitchen staff and report to the kitchen manager, gaining valuable experience in the culinary field.
Duties
? A willingness to learn and develop new skills
? Adhere to established food safety and sanitation guidelines
? Ensure safe food handling practices by understanding and preventing cross-contamination
? Ensure proper food production and storage
? Maintain facility cleanliness and upkeep
? Uphold hygiene and uniform standard
? Knowledge of basic baking skill to prepare a variety of baked goods
? Prepare and measure ingredients according to specifications
? Minimize food waste through inventory management
? Monitor cooking process and final presentation to meet food quality standards
? Follow allergy protocols for guest safety
? Perform dishwashing duties as needed to maintain an organized kitchen
? The ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods of time
? Demonstrate flexibility in task execution to adapt to changes in workflow
? Commit to excellence in every aspect of food service
Requirements
? Previous experience in a kitchen role
? Knowledge of basic baking skill to prepare a variety of baked goods
? Safe food handling certificate
? Valid Manitoba driver's license
