Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Catering Cook to join our team in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This permanent, full-time position plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality meals for various events and functions within the hospitality and catering industry. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking and a commitment to providing exceptional service, ensuring that our culinary offerings meet the highest standards of taste and presentation.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to menu specifications and dietary requirements.
- Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner and meets quality standards.
- Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and food preparation areas.
- Monitor food stock levels and assist with inventory management.
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations at all times.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during service.
- Participate in training and development of junior kitchen staff.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a cook in a catering or hospitality environment, ideally with mid-level experience.
- Culinary diploma or equivalent qualification is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Creativity and a passion for cooking, with a willingness to learn and adapt.
