About Us: Azura is a premier tasting menu fine dining restaurant in Toronto, specializing in Mediterranean cuisine. At Azura, we are dedicated to providing an unparalleled dining experience, where refined service meets culinary excellence.
: We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Sommelier to join our team. The ideal candidate will have an extensive background in wine, a deep understanding of wine pairings, and the ability to curate an exceptional wine experience for our guests. You will be responsible for managing our wine program, educating staff and guests, and ensuring that our wine offerings enhance the overall dining experience.
Responsibilities:
- Curate and manage our wine list, ensuring a diverse and high-quality selection that complements our tasting menu.
- Provide expert wine service to guests, including wine pairings, recommendations, and tastings.
- Educate and train staff on wine knowledge, including pairings, service, and storage.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of our wine inventory, managing stock levels and placing orders as needed.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure harmonious wine pairings with our dishes.
- Stay current with wine trends, regions, and vintages to continually improve our offerings.
- Uphold the highest standards of service, ensuring a memorable and refined experience for every guest.
- Handle guest inquiries and concerns about wine with professionalism and enthusiasm.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to continually improve service quality.
Requirements:
- Certified Sommelier or equivalent experience in a fine dining environment.
- Extensive knowledge of wine, regions, vintages, and pairings.
- Passion for wine and the ability to share that passion with guests and staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A team player with a positive attitude and a commitment to excellence.
