We are seeking a highly accomplished Senior Project Manager/Leader for an exciting hybrid contract opportunity based in Toronto. In this role, you will take complete ownership of the end-to-end delivery of complex Azure cloud application projects, managing timelines, scope, risks, and quality across multiple critical workstreams.

As a senior leader, you will orchestrate and guide cross-functional technical teams—including developers, business analysts, architects, and third-party vendors—to deliver high-performing solutions. You will be responsible for executive stakeholder management, project governance, budget forecasting, and ensuring strict compliance with enterprise cloud and security standards.

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid - 3 days/week in-office)

Responsibilities
Cloud Project Delivery: Lead the end-to-end delivery of enterprise Azure cloud application projects, managing complex timelines, scope, risks, and quality across multiple workstreams.

Cross-Functional Leadership: Coordinate, guide, and mentor diverse, technical teams consisting of developers, business analysts, architects, and vendors to ensure cohesive solution delivery.

Governance & Agile Sprint Execution: Oversee project governance, sprint execution, day-to-day issue resolution, and strict adherence to established cloud, security, and enterprise standards.

Financial & Budget Management: Develop and manage complex project budgets derived from multiple funding channels, providing accurate cost forecasting and reporting to ensure targets are achieved.

Stakeholder Alignment: Partner closely with business and operational stakeholders to translate complex requirements into actionable technical project plans, driving alignment across the organization.

Risk Mitigation & Executive Escalation: Proactively identify potential risk events and issues, articulate and prioritize them for senior executives, and recommend actionable mitigation strategies.

Methodology Compliance: Ensure all project processes and deliverables adhere strictly to standard project management methodologies, frameworks, and guidelines.

Executive Reporting: Maintain detailed project schedules and author high-level status reports and documentation for executive and steering committee review.

Qualifications
Core Technical & Project Requirements
Azure Project Leadership: 8+ years of dedicated experience leading the end-to-end delivery of Azure cloud application projects across multiple concurrent workstreams.

Technical Team Coordination: 8+ years of experience guiding cross-functional technical teams (developers, architects, BAs, and vendors) through complex software delivery lifecycles.

Governance & Standards: 8+ years of experience overseeing project governance, sprint execution, stakeholder communications, and compliance with enterprise security and cloud standards.

Schedule & Scope Mastery: Deep experience creating, tracking, and maintaining detailed project schedules, deliverables, and scope documentation.

Financial & Risk Management
Budget Forecasting: Proven ability to build and monitor sophisticated project budgets influenced by multiple funding channels and dependencies.

Proactive Risk Management: Demonstrated success in predicting potential project bottlenecks and risks, formulating mitigation strategies, and presenting them effectively to decision-makers.

Desirable & Soft Skills
Public Sector Familiarity: Prior experience working within public sector frameworks or managing projects tied to government/ministry standards is considered a strong asset.

Professional Certifications: A solid understanding of Project Management principles is required; a valid PMP certification is highly desired but not mandatory.

Communication Excellence: Outstanding presentation and reporting skills, with the ability to summarize complex technical roadblocks into concise updates for senior executives.
