Director of Engineering at Leading R&D Firm

Lead multi-disciplinary teams in structural and mechanical engineering while driving compliance and lifecycle management. This senior director role focuses on overseeing engineering functions, ensuring project execution, and integrating input from civil, electrical, and electronics engineering. The ideal candidate possesses a strong foundation in heavy mechanical design and experience in product, program, and project management methodologies. You will collaborate cross-departmentally to achieve shared business outcomes and foster a culture of growth. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all engineering personnel and programs
- Direct complex simulations and finite element analyses
- Manage cross-department projects with sales and finance
- Identify and recommend external consultants and SMEs
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 8–10 years in heavy mechanical design experience
- Proven experience managing cross-disciplinary teams
- Familiarity with SR&ED and IRAP funding
- Strong technical leadership capabilities
