Weir Canada Systems Safety Engineer

Become a Systems Safety & Environmental Engineer with Weir Canada in Dartmouth, NS. Contribute to the River Class Destroyer project, focusing on hazard management and safety assurance. As part of the Combat and Control Systems (CCS) team, this full-time position mixes onsite and remote work. You will perform comprehensive safety and environmental engineering analyses, identifying hazards and quantifying risks. Collaborating with Royal Canadian Navy experts, you'll ensure compliance with legislative and safety standards throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct safety analyses using formal methods for hazard identification
- Support lifecycle phase reviews and safety engineering working groups
- Develop and review critical safety documentation and reports
- Maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders and experts
- Promote a zero harm safety culture across all activities
- Must have Government of Canada security clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science
- Effective communication skills in English for various interactions
- Experience in Safety Engineering related disciplines preferred
- Familiarity with data modeling languages is advantageous
