Human Resources Generalist

Landsong Heritage Consulting Ltd. is seeking a permanent, full‑time Human Resources Generalist to join our team, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. This role is ideal for an HR professional who is experienced across employee relations, compliance, and performance management, and enjoys building systems and supporting organizational growth. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with supervisors and managers and develop and lead Landsong’s HR function, ensuring policies, programs, and practices align with legislative requirements and company values. Working within an Indigenous-owned organization grounded in Safety, Quality, Integrity, Innovation, and Respect, you will support meaningful heritage work by fostering a strong, engaged, and compliant workforce.

Our Ideal Candidate has the Following Qualifications :

• Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Human Resources, preferably in a small or growing company.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices in BC.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, establish systems, and manage priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• CPHR designation (or working toward it) is considered an asset.
• Valid Class 5 driver's license or equivalent.
• Must be located in BC or AB.

Duties and Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):

HR Administration

• Develop and administer the HR function at Landsong, providing strategic HR support.
• Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with federal and provincial employment legislation, company policies, and HR best practices, in close collaboration with supervisors and managers.
• Maintain accurate and confidential HR records.
• Contribute to the Landsong Quality Management Program (QMP).

Employee Relations

• Provide support and guidance to employees and managers on HR-related matters and best practices.
• Collaborate with supervisors and managers on performance management and employee relations.
• Assist and guide managers through disciplinary processes, including progressive discipline, investigations, and documentation.
• Conduct HR investigations and provide reports and recommendations to management.
• Foster employee engagement, inclusion, and retention initiatives

Recruitment, Onboarding & Offboarding

• Manage full-cycle recruitment including job postings, screening, interviews, and background/reference checks.
• Coordinate onboarding processes to ensure successful integration of new employees.
• Manage offboarding processes including exit interviews and documentation.
• Advise on and administer termination procedures and documentation, ensuring compliance with legislation.

Training & Development

• Collaborate with supervisors and managers to coordinate and track employee training.
• Manage the employee performance review cycles.

Health, Safety, & WCB

• Work collaboratively with the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) team to support compliance with the EHS Program and WCB compliance programs.
• Collaborate with supervisors and managers to promote a strong culture of safety and well-being.

Working Conditions:

• Office or remote office work with extended periods of computer‑based work.
• Occasional travel within BC may be required.

What we Offer:

• Target compensation for this role is $80,000-$100,000 per annum depending on experience and qualifications.
