School Lunch Coordinator

CHEP Good Food Inc. is hiring a School Lunch Coordinator for our Innovation School Food program. This position helps ensure students receive nutritious, ready-to-eat lunches on school days, on time and without missed orders.

This is a school-year position that operates when school lunch programming is active. Regular hours are 33.5 hours per week, primarily Monday to Thursday. Hours may vary around school breaks, holidays, summer closure, and program needs.

The School Lunch Coordinator coordinates the daily preparation, packing, and delivery of school lunches. Duties include confirming and tracking lunch numbers from schools, preparing and packing food, organizing labels and delivery totes, coordinating with volunteer drivers, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and following food safety procedures.

The role also includes monitoring inventory, coordinating food orders, supporting supply pickups or Wholesale Club runs as needed, and planning ahead for supplier timelines. Administrative duties include maintaining lunch records, tracking statistics, supporting invoices and monthly reports, updating school contact information, and communicating with schools when numbers or schedules change.

The successful candidate will be reliable, organized, calm under pressure, and able to manage daily routines while adapting to changes. Strong communication, time management, attention to detail, teamwork, and basic computer/email skills are important.

Food Safe certification is required or must be completed before starting. Food preparation, school food, catering, community program, ordering/inventory, or volunteer coordination experience is an asset.

This hands-on kitchen role involves standing, repetitive tasks, bending, lifting, and carrying up to 50 lbs. Occasional delivery or supply support may be required.

Reports to the Operations Manager and works closely with the School Lunch Assistant, schools, suppliers, volunteers, and CHEP staff.
