Radiation Protection Specialist Vancouver

Become a Radiation Protection Specialist at TRIUMF in Vancouver, BC, dedicated to maintaining a safe research environment. Monitor radiation levels, assist scientists, and enhance radiation safety protocols. TRIUMF's Radiation Protection Group is hiring a Radiation Protection Specialist to maintain site-wide radiological hygiene. You will conduct monitoring, perform radiation surveys, and support operational safety through expert guidance and training. This role is vital for ensuring that state-of-the-art science is conducted in a safe manner. Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor radiological hygiene through site walkthroughs
- Conduct surveys of high-activity radiation zones
- Record and document environmental sampling processes
- Facilitate safe access to radiation-controlled areas
- Provide important radiation safety guidance to teams
- Relevant degree and at least one year of experience
- Basic knowledge of radiation protection and dosimetry
- Ability to communicate effectively in teams
- Completion of TRIUMF's required safety training
- Physical capability to handle safety equipment and access heights
