Heavy Duty Equipment Technicians (HDET)

About the Role We are looking for three Heavy Duty Equipment Technicians to join our Mobile Maintenance team, working alongside a collaborative, safety‑focused group. In this role, you’ll maintain and repair a range of mobile equipment, playing a key part in keeping operations running safely, reliably, and efficiently across the smelting site.

Reporting to the Supervisor, you will:

Actively contribute to a safety‑first culture by identifying hazards, speaking up, and supporting safe work practices across the team

Participate in safety meetings, hazard identification, and incident investigations to support continuous improvement

Maintain clean and organized work areas while adhering to site safety and environmental standards

Perform inspection, maintenance, and repair of mobile equipment in line with work plans and quality expectations

Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining equipment integrity and reliability

Accurately document work performed to support effective communication across shifts and teams

Conduct equipment reviews to ensure compliance with site standards and operational requirements

Support the development of apprentices by sharing knowledge, coaching, and assigning tasks that support their progression

About You

A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team

Interprovincial Red Seal certification as a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (HDET)

A valid provincial driver’s licence (minimum Class 7), or equivalent from another province

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team

Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing mobile equipment, including Linde, Mecfor, Caterpillar, and/or Techmo models, is beneficial
