Senior Information Technology Project Manager (Toronto)

The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Senior IT Project Manager to lead delivery across a growing portfolio of payments and financial technology initiatives. You’ll take ownership of end-to-end project delivery within a technology‑led setting, working on complex, client‑facing solutions that integrate with global payment networks and support international financial institutions. This is a high‑impact role requiring a strong blend of project delivery, payments knowledge, and technical awareness.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of technology projects across payments and financial systems
- Manage budgets, timelines, risks, issues, and governance
- Drive execution across multi-disciplinary teams (Dev, QA, BA, Design)
- Work closely with technical teams to support
- Infrastructure changes
- System integrations
- Client onboarding activity
- Ensure delivery of secure and compliant solutions, including regulatory-driven initiatives
- Act as the key liaison between technical teams and stakeholders
Qualifications
- Core Experience
- Proven experience as a Senior IT Project Manager
- Strong track record delivering complex technology projects
- Experience working across Agile and Waterfall environments
- Payments & Financial Systems (Essential)
- Experience working within payments environments
- Understanding of card‑based transaction flows (e.g., Visa / Mastercard)
- Exposure to payment processing, FX, or transaction‑based systems is highly desirable
- Technical & Cloud Awareness
- Experience working in cloud‑based environments (Azure preferred)
- Strong understanding of infrastructure concepts (VPNs, servers, firewalls, networking)
- System integrations and environments
- Ability to work confidently with engineering teams (non-hands‑on)
- Compliance & Security Awareness
- Exposure to security and compliance‑driven projects (e.g., PCI environments)
- Understanding of vulnerability management, patching, and system upgrades
- Nice to Have
- Experience working with international clients or stakeholders
- Additional language skills (Spanish or French)
- Knowledge of payments standards or messaging formats
